Meet Dr. Hemita Klose

Dr. Hemita Klose was born in Harare, Zimbabwe and raised in Lusaka, Zambia. Dr. Klose moved to the United States with her parents and older sister in 2000. Their journey took them to the Bay area in California and later to Orlando, Florida where Dr. Klose completed high school at Lake Brantley High School and graduated at only 16 years old.

Dr. Klose then went on to study Micro and Molecular Biology at the University of Central Florida, and she completed her Bachelor of Science at the age of 20. As she applied to dental programs, Dr. Klose took a year off school to work in the field that would later become her career, Dentistry. Dr. Klose worked as a dental assistant, learning the ins and outs of dentistry through the eyes of a dental assistant. On her 21st birthday, Dr. Klose received the best news – she had been offered admission to both schools she applied to – the University of Florida and Nova Southeastern University.

Dr. Klose began her practice of Dentistry in Orlando, Florida where she practiced for several years. Dr. Klose and her husband later relocated to New York City where she started her own practice, West Village Dental Studio, a highly successful private dental practice in the heart of the West Village. While running her practice, she welcomed two beautiful daughters. A few years later, the Klose’s made the decision to return to their home state of Florida. Dr. Klose and her family are now proud to call Naples home with their two children and of course, two fur babies.

Our Approach

Philosophy

I believe that every patient deserves to have a beautiful, healthy smile that they can be confident in. I also believe that every patient should be an active participant in their own dental care. That is why I take the time to educate my patients about their oral health needs and to work with them to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that meets their individual goals.

Approach to Treatment

I believe in a conservative approach to dental treatment. I only recommend treatment when it is absolutely necessary, and I always try to find the most minimally invasive solution. I also believe in using the latest technology and advanced materials to provide my patients with the best possible care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Porcelain veneers typically last 10 to 15 years with proper care. Their longevity depends on factors such as oral hygiene, lifestyle habits, and regular dental check-ups. To extend the lifespan of porcelain veneers, avoid biting hard objects, maintain good oral hygiene, and visit your dentist regularly for professional cleanings and exams.

The most effective oral sleep appliances for sleep apnea are mandibular advancement devices (MADs). These devices work by repositioning the lower jaw forward to keep the airway open during sleep. Oral sleep appliances are a great alternative to CPAP machines for mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea, improving airflow and reducing snoring. The best option depends on individual needs, so a consultation with a sleep specialist or dentist is recommended.

The best treatment for teeth whitening depends on your goals and the level of discoloration. Professional teeth whitening treatments performed by a dentist, such as in-office bleaching with high-concentration peroxide gels or laser teeth whitening, provide the most effective and long-lasting results. At-home options, like custom whitening trays or over-the-counter whitening strips, can also help but may take longer to achieve noticeable results. Consulting with a dentist ensures you choose the safest and most effective teeth whitening method for your needs.

Once the tooth extraction procedure has been done, the experienced team at Naples Dental Boutique in Naples, FL, will recommend some aftercare tips on the day of the procedure to aid the healing process:

  • Don’t rinse too vigorously
  • Limit exercise for 24 hours
  • Don’t use straws
  • Don’t brush your teeth around the surgery area for 72 hours
  • Don’t disturb the blood clot found in the extraction site
  • Don’t drink alcohol or smoke.

A common emergency in pediatric dentistry is a knocked-out tooth, which requires immediate attention. Pediatric dental emergencies like this can happen due to falls, sports injuries, or accidents. If a permanent tooth is knocked out, it should be kept moist (in milk or saliva) and taken to the dentist immediately. For baby teeth, a dentist can assess if any treatment is needed to prevent complications.

While dental implants are a long-lasting and effective solution for missing teeth, there are some potential downsides. The process requires surgery, which carries risks such as infection, nerve damage, or sinus issues. Additionally, dental implants can be more expensive than other tooth replacement options, and the healing process can take several months. However, with proper care, they provide a durable and natural-looking solution for tooth replacement.

There are three main types of dentures:

  • Complete Dentures – These replace all teeth in the upper or lower jaw and are ideal for patients who have lost all their natural teeth.
  • Partial Dentures – Used when some natural teeth remain, these dentures help fill in gaps while maintaining alignment and function.
  • Implant-Supported Dentures – These are secured by dental implants, providing more stability and comfort compared to traditional dentures.

Each type of dentures is designed to restore function and aesthetics based on individual needs.

The best therapy for TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorder) depends on the severity of the condition. Common treatments include jaw exercises, physical therapy, stress management, custom mouthguards, and medication for pain relief. In more severe cases, dental treatments such as bite adjustments or even surgery may be necessary. Consulting a dentist or specialist can help determine the most effective therapy for TMJ based on individual symptoms.

Dental bondings typically last 3 to 10 years, depending on factors such as oral hygiene, diet, and daily habits. To extend the lifespan of dental bondings, avoid biting on hard objects, minimize staining foods and drinks, and maintain regular dental check-ups for maintenance and touch-ups if needed.

Oral cancer screenings typically involve a visual and physical examination by a dentist or healthcare provider. During the screening, the dentist checks for abnormalities such as sores, red or white patches, and lumps in the mouth, throat, and neck. Some advanced screening methods include fluorescence staining, brush biopsy, and toluidine blue staining, which help detect early signs of cancer. Regular oral cancer screenings are essential for early detection and improving treatment outcomes.
