Dr. Hemita Klose was born in Harare, Zimbabwe and raised in Lusaka, Zambia. Dr. Klose moved to the United States with her parents and older sister in 2000. Their journey took them to the Bay area in California and later to Orlando, Florida where Dr. Klose completed high school at Lake Brantley High School and graduated at only 16 years old.
Dr. Klose then went on to study Micro and Molecular Biology at the University of Central Florida, and she completed her Bachelor of Science at the age of 20. As she applied to dental programs, Dr. Klose took a year off school to work in the field that would later become her career, Dentistry. Dr. Klose worked as a dental assistant, learning the ins and outs of dentistry through the eyes of a dental assistant. On her 21st birthday, Dr. Klose received the best news – she had been offered admission to both schools she applied to – the University of Florida and Nova Southeastern University.
Dr. Klose began her practice of Dentistry in Orlando, Florida where she practiced for several years. Dr. Klose and her husband later relocated to New York City where she started her own practice, West Village Dental Studio, a highly successful private dental practice in the heart of the West Village. While running her practice, she welcomed two beautiful daughters. A few years later, the Klose’s made the decision to return to their home state of Florida. Dr. Klose and her family are now proud to call Naples home with their two children and of course, two fur babies.
Dr. Klose decided to attend the prestigious University of Florida College of Dentistry. Dr. Klose excelled in her academics and clinicals and went on to graduate top 5 in her class at University of Florida College of Dentistry. As a result, Dr. Klose was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, an invitation-only honor society that recognizes only the highest achievers of graduating dentists nationwide. Dr. Klose is well versed in all aspects of Dentistry including fillings/bondings, crowns, veneers, whitening, gum therapies, extractions, implants, root canal therapy, and orthodontics such as Invisalign®.
Dr. Klose is an avid believer in continuing education and strives to learn about all of the latest research and technology in Dentistry. Completing one of the most rigorous continuing dental education programs, Dr. Klose received the FAGD award from the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) in June of 2018. To become a “Fellow” of the AGD is no small feat, and to date, less than 7,000 members have been awarded fellowships. Requirements include a minimum of 500 hours of approved continuing education, a comprehensive 4-hour 400-question exam covering all topics within clinical dentistry and an extreme dedication to patient care. Staying ahead of the curve in advanced dentistry and utilizing the most current techniques and technology for treatment, patients can rest assured that with Dr. Klose they are receiving the highest quality of care in general dentistry.

Since 1987, faculty and students from the University of Florida College of Dentistry have made an annual mission trip to Las Matas de Farfán in the Dominican Republic. The rural area is very remote and residents have extremely limited access to dental care. In August 2010, Dr. Klose a student dentist at the time, was selected as participant of the program and set off for the annual, week-long trip.
Dr. Klose and her classmates provided emergency dental treatment to those in need, ranging from young children to the elderly. Dr. Klose and her colleagues worked tirelessly to provide services such as dental extractions and fillings all without the luxuries of dental x-rays, chairs and suction. Groups traveled to local churches, schools and orphanages throughout the region. Dr. Klose also journeyed three hours into the mountains to treat patients, many of whom had never before seen a dentist.
In Las Matas de Farfán, the group was staged in the town center with generators and portable dental units so they were also able to provide restorative dental treatment. Dr. Klose and her teammates were proud to have treated more than 600 deserving patients during this week-long trip.
